Workshop Program
(The Wedding by Nikolaļ Gogol)
Natalia Zvereva
By inviting us to explore Gogol's universe through his theatre, Natalia Zverava offers a pragmatic training approach based on the dialogue giving the actor precious clues as to his art.
She goes about that by developping the actor's aptitude to listen, to observe and to delineate each intention. Dialogue breakdown is not merely a question of literary analysis for Natalia Zvereva, its main object is to help the actor act.
By ad-libbing in their own words, by exploring each conflict to discover how it modifies the character's destiny, the actors can then verify if the objectives have been clearly stated and understood, and if they are sufficient . Thus each detail of intention in the role's construction,in terms of interaction with the overall dramatic evolution is clearly made ap-parent. By stressing the interactivity of the characters, this way of working enhances listening aptitudes between partners, there again an essential element for Natalia
Zvereva..
